Free Measuring Service: Our free measuring service is offered subject to availability and is valid within the Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding North East areas. Additional charges may apply for locations outside our standard service area.

4. Orders and Payment

Order Process: Orders placed via the website, phone, or in-store are subject to acceptance by Newcastle Carpets and Beds. We will confirm acceptance via email or phone.

Payment: Payment is required in full at the time of order unless otherwise agreed (e.g., financing options). We accept major credit/debit cards and other payment methods as specified at checkout.

Refunds: Refunds for eligible returns will be processed within 14 days of receiving the returned product in its original condition. Installation and delivery fees are non-refundable unless the service was not provided as agreed.

5. Delivery and Installation

Delivery: We offer delivery within Newcastle upon Tyne and the North East, subject to availability and additional charges for areas outside our standard radius. Delivery times are estimates and may vary due to unforeseen circumstances.

Installation: Professional installation services are provided by our trained team. You must ensure the installation area is clear and accessible. We are not liable for delays caused by customer-preparedness issues.

Delays: While we strive to meet agreed delivery and installation schedules, we are not liable for delays due to factors beyond our control (e.g., weather, supply chain issues).

6. Returns and Warranties

Returns Policy: Non-custom products (e.g., standard-size mattresses) can be returned within 14 days of delivery if unused and in original packaging. Contact us to arrange returns. Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the product is faulty.

Faulty Products: If a product is faulty or damaged, we will offer a repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Contact us within 30 days of delivery to report issues.

Warranties: Products come with manufacturer warranties as specified at purchase. Installation services include a 5-year guarantee, subject to proper use and maintenance.

Terms and Conditions of Sale

To help us provide the exceptional service you deserve, please read the following information carefully.

  • Order Verification: To ensure we supply the correct products, please check your receipt carefully upon purchase.

  • Proof of Purchase: Keep your receipt safe, as it serves as your proof of purchase and guarantee. It is required for any complaints, queries, exchanges, or refunds.

  • Payment Terms:

    • Any outstanding balance must be paid within 7 days of purchase or prior to fitting, delivery, or collection, whichever comes first.

      For special order goods, any outstanding balance is due within 7 days of the goods being available and prior to fitting, delivery, or collection, whichever comes first.

  • Colour Matching: Due to manufacturing processes, we cannot guarantee colour matching on carpets of different widths or purchased at different times.

  • Pile Pressure: Plain or shadow pile carpets may develop a shaded appearance due to pile pressure. This does not affect the product’s durability.

  • Rug Returns: Rugs may be exchanged or refunded within 48 hours of purchase with the original receipt, provided they are in unused, pristine condition.

  • Special Orders: Special order carpets, vinyl, or laminates are non-returnable as they are made to your specific requirements. A cancellation fee may apply in some cases; please discuss with the store manager.

  • Fitting Service: We can arrange professional installation for your flooring or bed purchases through our trusted third-party fitting partners (charges apply; ask in-store for details). Our fitters are time-served tradesmen with public liability insurance and are solely responsible for any damage caused during the fitting process. We will contact you, typically the day before, to provide an approximate arrival time (e.g., morning, lunchtime, afternoon). Exact times cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the work.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Uplift all old floor coverings, underlays, and accessories if new products are purchased.

  • Remove all furniture and personal possessions from the installation area.

  • Inform fitters of any hidden cables or pipework.

  • Move appliances (e.g., washing machines, dryers, cookers, fridges) if flooring is to be fitted underneath.

  • Disconnect electrical appliances (e.g., TV, satellite, HiFi) and remove them from the room.

  • Ensure the floor is even and carry out any remedial work in advance, as we cannot guarantee fitting on uneven floors.

  • For self-fitting, check the flooring for correct size and defects before installation, as we cannot replace goods once cut or fitted.

  • Fitting Conditions:

  • Fitters cannot re-hang doors removed during installation.

  • We cannot guarantee fitting if you instruct fitters to use existing underlay or accessories that are unsuitable or substandard.

  • Fitters will leave waste tidied and bagged for your disposal.

  • Fitters are booked to install only goods purchased from Newcastle Carpets and Beds. Goods purchased elsewhere will incur a £25.00 fee per product (e.g., gripper rods, underlay, door bars).

  • Pay the fitter only upon complete satisfaction.

  • For queries, contact the store using the number on your invoice.

  • Free Fitting: Where “free fitting” is offered, this applies to labour only.

  • Ownership: All goods remain the property of Newcastle Carpets and Beds until paid for in full.

  • Collection: Customers collecting goods must present a valid proof of purchase (e.g., sales invoice) before goods can be released.

  • Customer-Provided Sizes: If you provide your own measurements, ensure they are accurate, as goods cut to these specifications cannot be returned.

The above conditions do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
